The Friends of the U.S. Botanic Garden established a fellowship to develop professionals in the field of public garden education and to bring the USBG’s outdoor gardens to life for visitors. Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is located in Northwest Arkansas and is a collection of twelve themed gardens and includes the region’s only butterfly house. Their Horticulture Intern is responsible for the care of diverse trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, and other plants, use and maintenance of equipment and tools, and hand watering the monitoring of the irrigation of plantings. Dow Gardens is a 110-acre display of annuals and perennials and is home to the largest canopy walk in the United tates. The Institute is a unique training and development program for individuals interested in entering the horticulture industry. The program combines hands-on field experience, mentoring from industry leaders, and scholarships for a quality education from the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). The combination of practical experience and academic studies, over two years, prepares the participants for advanced responsibilities and promotion. ALI provides an 80% college tuition scholarship. Their Landscape Management Intern is responsible for assisting with the overall maintenance of the baseball facility. Seed Your Future

The Seed Your Future Communications Intern will support key functions to advance the strategic plan for the movement – including creating awareness around careers in horticulture, driving engagement through the website and social media, and building the capacity of the movement.  Key to the position is supporting the value proposition to intrigue the target audience with the aspirational basis for why they should care about horticulture and careers working with plants; and why they should want to learn more. This position will be integral to amplifying the horticulture message within our target audiences (tweens, their teachers and their parents), with the goal to show new and unexpected possibilities of horticulture in an eye-catching, relatable and achievable way. The Seed Your Future Communications Intern is an internship for the movement, provided by Longwood Gardens.  The internship is based in Kennett Square, PA and will work remotely with staff and volunteers based across the country. Winter’s Garden Internship Program began in 1991 to help educate the next generation of horticulturalists and environmental stewards while also preserving Mr. Pierre DuPont’s estate, Winterthur. The program offers internships in Arboriculture, Grounds Management, Horticulture, and Natural Lands Stewardship. Internships are primarily for the duration of the summer and interns are expected to work at least a 35-hours a week. It is a 7 week program for individuals interested in becoming a commercial grower. Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is located in Northwest Arkansas and is a collection of twelve themed gardens and includes the region’s only butterfly house.
